Venera 15 and 16 two frequency radio occultation measurements carried out in 1983 to 1984 were used to determine the characteristics of the dayside atmosphere of Venus for intermediate states of solar activity. A comparison of these data with Venera 9 and 10 and Pioneer-Venus data revealed a series of ionospheric characteristics connected with the phase of the solar cycle.
