An analysis of photographic and photoelectric observations of the optical variability of the nucleus of the Seyfert galaxy NGC 4151 is presented. A multicomponent nuclear structure is discovered consisting of a fast component, a periodic fluctuation, and three various slow components. It is confirmed by examining a periodogram that the mean light curve exhibits a secondary maximum. The phase of maximum is found to shift with a 126 day period, with variations occuring in cycles of approximately 20 years. This may be evidence of orbital motion about a central body such as a supermassive black hole, whose mass would be approximately 10 to the 8th solar masses and whose orbital velocity would be about 10 to the 4th km/sec.
