Gravitation Theory: Accretion Disks
Scientific paper
The motion of test bodies is examined in the framework of the Vaidya-Bonner model of a charged, radiating mass. The null and time-like geodesic equations are obtained exactly. Similar equations are obtained exactly for the case of charged test particles. It is demonstrated that the luminosity of the central body induces a relative motion between positive and negative test charges, leading to accretion disk temperatures for luminous bodies which are higher than those of non-radiating bodies.
