The authors describe modifications to an otherwise conventional Cuffey
Iris Astrophotometer to facilitate automatic measuring and data
recording. Measurements obtained with the modified machine are
significantly less time consuming than those obtained manually and are
of comparable accuracy to those of an experienced user.
