Scientific paper

An attempt is made to report on calculations of certain nuclear processes that occur at the magnetic poles of a neutron star. The results are taken as confirming a photohadronic absorption model of electron-positron pair production at the magnetic poles of a neutron star. The relevance of this model for the boundary condition corresponding to space-charge-limited ion emission is considered.
