Photographs of P/Halley taken on a 50 to 70 cm Schmidt and a 2 cm RCC telescope are presented. The U- and B-plates of 12 and 13 Nov., 1985, show an ejection from the inner coma region towards the south. On 15 and 16 Nov., on U- and B-plates again, a strong ejection was recorded, extended to the north-northeast. At the same time in the R-band only a slight deformation of the coma can be seen. To explain these observations a model is proposed interpreting them as a high velocity ejection of matter off the rotating and precessing comet nucleus. Using this model, the orientation of the nucleus spin axis and the locations of the ejection sources are determined.
