P Cygni profiles indicate strong, high velocity maw loss from several dwarf novae during outburst. These P Cygni profiles give direct estimates of the maw loss rates and indirect indications of the emission at unobservable wavelengths in the EUV. We have observed substantial variations in the width and shape of the C IV profile in HL CMa while the optical brightness changed by -0.5 rnagnitude. We wish to extend this study to the full amplitude of HL CMa and to study another dwarf nova which has similar optical variations. We hope to test the theory we have developed for boundary layer emission and to determine the size of the region where the wind originates.
