We selected several ozonesonde stations at high middle latitudes in order to look for the long-term changes in the ozone laminae occurrence frequency and magnitude. The results are compared with surprisingly strong negative trends in ozone laminae occurrence and magnitude found recently in central Europe (Hohenpeissenberg and Lindenberg, ~50 N). The role of the stratospheric dynamics (captured by circulation indices describing the intensity of zonal flow as well as wave disturbances from the mean flow) in the observed changes in ozone laminae is discussed in order to improve interpretation of the results.
