We have calculated oscillator strengths for the J--J' levels of the a 6D -- y 6Po UV8 multiplet in Fe II using configuration interaction wavefunctions. Our result for the 9/2--7/2 transition is in excellent agreement with the value recently derived from observations. Our results for all the transitions show a much improved agreement with recent experimental work compared with previous calculations.
