A method is presented for determining f-values and the resonance interaction constant K of resonance lines from absorption measurements. The total absorption of two Kr I and five Xe I resonance lines between 1140 Å, and 1500 Å has been measured as a function of the pressure of the absorption gas. Using the formalism of the curve of growth it is possible to simulate this dependence for one resonance line by adjusting the resonance interaction constant K and the f-value to fit the measured equivalent widths. The measurements were performed at room temperature (292 K) at pressures ranging from 10-3 to 100 mbar using an absorption path length of 2 cm. All experimental values presented in this paper are in good agreement with other experimental and theoretical results.
