A mechanism that damps the oscillations of a star in the presence of phase transitions of the matter is considered. Equations of motion are derived and solutions are obtained for different regimes of the radial oscillations of the star in the incompressible-fluid approximation. The maximal amplitude of undamped oscillations of neutron stars in the presence of pionization is estimated.
