The shower-to-sporadic ratios of radar meteor echo counts are derived from simultaneous radio observations at Ondřejov (Czechoslovakia), Budrio (Italy) and Gissar (USSR) during the Orionid shower period in 1979. A sharp maximum of the shower activity was observed on Oct. 23, located at 208.7° solar longitude, confirming a gradual shift of peak activity with solar longitude by 0.75 deg/year. The shower activity over the whole period is considerably higher in the range of smaller particles. A high contamination of meteor rates by ɛ Geminid shower meteors was found.
