In our recent multiwavelength observations of GRS 1758-258, a soft component was found in the spectrum. The soft component can be represented by a black body spectrum with a temperature of 0.81 keV. Only 1.5% of the total energy flux in the energy range of 2.5 - 10000 keV is from the soft component. Similar soft components were also found in the low state Cyg X-1 spectra. We explore the origin of the soft component in this paper. Basing on the Compton scattering model, we examine various possible origins of the soft component with our well developed Monte Carlo simulation code. We also discuss how the origin of the soft component constrains the X-ray emitting mechanisms of BHCs.
