Interstellar molecules detected accidentally in searches for specific molecules and in board band spectral surveys are studied. The physical and chemical reasons for the existence of interstellar molecules are discussed. Of the 70 species observed, 13 contain CH3 groups and 15 are acetylenic carbon chains. The elemental abundances, selected molecular concentrations, and molecular abundances in the Orion ridge and plateau, TMC-1, and the IRC+10216 are identified and tabularly presented. The molecular abundance in the Orion hot core and plateau is described. A table of the molecular abundance of simple compounds in the Orion ridge, TMC-1/L183, and diffuse regions is provided.
