Difficulties in studying orientations of galaxies are discussed, and a simple method for studying the position-angle distribution of galaxies in the case of small samples is outlined. A parameter is introduced which is proportional to the chi-squared value in Pearson's compatibility test; the inapplicability of Pearson's criterion to very small samples is taken into account. Analysis of the cited parameter for small regions of the sky and for nearby Zwicky clusters plus a study of certain galaxy pairs lead to the conclusion that the position angles of galaxies belonging to the same system are distributed more uniformly than might be expected for a uniformly random distribution of mutually independent values. It is noted that this result may indicate spatial ordering of galaxies in systems when they originated.
