Local spectra of galactic proton radiation were computed and integrated over circular earth orbits with 6670-km radius on the basis of two different models: (1) a formula for the vertical cutoff rigidity, where it is assumed the local spectrum coincides with the interplanetary galactic cosmic ray spectrum for rigidities greater than the vertical cutoff rigidity, and (2) a calculation of the solid angle of reception as a function of particle rigidity. The geomagnetic field was assumed to be a central dipole, coaxial with the axis of rotation of the earth. The difference in the lower bounds of the spectra varies from 50% to 10% as the orbit angle of inclination varies from 0 to 50 deg. A difference between spectra is observed mainly for rigidities greater than or approximately equal to the vertical cutoff rigidity, and for single orbit spectra this difference is greatest at the part of the orbit near the point of maximal latitude.
