TV photodetectors operating in the photon-count mode are now finding application in astronomical imaging. The present paper examines the problem of obtaining an image of an astronomical object on the basis of a series of its photon-count images distorted by the atmosphere. The optimal-processing characteristics are identified on the basis of a statistical synthesis procedure. A quasi-optimal algorithm is obtained, and its accuracy is evaluated.
