Optical instrumentation for earth remote sensing and space astronomy is
discussed with emphasis on lidar, passive sounders, and imaging
spectrometers. Attention is also given to optical satellite
communications; system prospects, simulations, optical acquisition and
tracking subsystems, and link experiments are examined.
