The outflow components in the spectrum of RX J0513-69 lend strong observational support for the white dwarf model for the supersoft X-ray sources (SSSs). Comparison of the spectra of RX J0513-69 and CAL 83 have played a role in enabling to develop a general framework for the SSSs, in which individual source characteristics are explicable through subtle differences in the mass accretion rate.
