We report on observations of the CSS transient CSS080924:040630+145214 first announced by Mahabal et al. (ATEL #1778). We obtained an optical spectrum (range 3450-6400 Angstroms) on October 22.42 UT using the Kast spectrograph on the Lick 3-m telescope. The spectrum shows that the transient is a type-Ia supernova, about a month past maximum brightness.
