New and exact analytical and computational developments of Guettler's (1952) formulas are presented for composite grains applied for models of graphite core-ice and silicate core-ice mantles. Literal and analytical expressions are established for the Riccati-Bessel functions and their derivatives. The results obtained are compared with others via approximate equations, and clear differences are proven.
