Results of ground-based and satellite observations of artificial formations generated in near-earth space as a result of launches of powerful rockets (including the Space Shuttle) are presented. The data suggest that the launches of powerful rockets are accompanied by the formation of long-lived (1-6 hr) artificial formations of dispersed particles. The formation of particle clouds associated with rocket launches can be a source of pollution of near-earth space. The brightness and space-time dynamics of the artificial formations are studied.
