One of the major challenges in optical interferometry is the recovery of phases from the data, which is an essential piece of information necessary to obtain images using standard radio interferometry reconstruction techniques. We will present the results of a differential phase technique, developed using Navy Prototype Optical Interferometry data, which allowed us to recover the phase information, and image the Hα emitting region of β Lyrae, an interactive and eclipsing binary system. We will describe the techniques used to correct the instrumental and atmospheric effects on the observed phases, as well as other corrections applied to the data in order to recover complex visibilities. The images obtained with this method show the movement of the Hα emitting regions relative to the continuum photocenter as a function of orbital phase. These results are used to obtain the orientation of the orbit and the separation of the stars. We will discuss how these results compare to other observations of this binary system reported in the literature.
