Scientific paper

Methods and instrumentation necessary for the imaging of low-orbit space vehicles (satellites), planets, and other space objects having large angular dimensions are considered. The methods allow the state of the objects, as manifested by their appearance, and their surface changes to be monitored from Earth. Several particular examples are presented to demonstrate high informativity of the images of space objects obtained by these methods. The future prospects for development of the imaging techniques, image processing methods, and use of this information are discussed.
