Two- and three-parameter zoning of the lunar surface is implemented
according to the landing sites of Ranger-6, Ranger-8, Surveyor-5, and
Lunokhod-2 in terms of albedo, color, and polarization degree. Two ways
of visualizing optically typical regions on the lunar disk are proposed.
Surface areas holding promise for future investigations are identified.
