The optical and infrared energy distributions of Beta Lyr have been measured at phase 0.14. It is found that Beta Lyr has a large infrared excess which is attributed to a free-free emission from an optically thick geseous disk, assumed to be isothermal, surrounding the secondary. It is felt that the effective radius of the disk increases with wavelength, a hypothesis supported by an analysis of the Beta Lyr minima.
