For a total of 46 bright classical early Be-type stars in the equatorial and southern sky, ground-based optical and infrared broadband photometry in the UBV and JHKLMN bands (λ 0.36 to 10.2 μm) performed in 1982 is presented and combined with results of space-borne IRAS photometry obtained for many of them in 1983 at wavelengths 12, 25, and 60 μm. Measurements are used to derive mean continuous energy distributions for 25 individual Be stars and to separate interstellar reddening from circumstellar infrared excess radiation. For all Be stars, modelling of mean slopes and curvature of observed continua implies fairly uniform circumstellar envelopes usually consisting of two components with considerably different optical depths for continuous infrared radiation.
