The influence of the uncertainties on nuclear reaction rates involved in the nucleosynthesis of the radioactive isotopes ^26^Al and ^22^Na is studied in the context of ONeMg nova outbursts. The nova model of MacDonald (1983) is used and coupled to a nuclear network both for nucleosynthesis and energetics calculations. Fast mixing is assumed for convection: the abundances are treated as uniform and the reaction rates are averaged within the envelope. The evolution of the temperature at the base of the burning shell, the yields of the various isotopes and the effect of our simplified treatment of convection are compared to the results of hydrodynamical calculations (Starrfield et al. 1978a; Politano et al. 1994). The rates of proton capture reactions on radioactive isotopes like ^25^Al, ^26^Al and ^22^Na can be uncertain by many orders of magnitude at low temperature (T_9_<~0.2). Following discussions on the nuclear spectroscopic data available, expressions representing the upper and lower limits are provided for the various rates. Then, the ^26^Al and ^22^Na yields obtained with the different rates are finally calculated.
