Comet Halley: Meteor Streams

Scientific paper

With the series of observations of the comet Halley meteor stream carried out by the FS radio system on the baseline Lecce-Bologna-Modra in 1996-2001, added to previous observations, including the worldwide campaign of the International Halley watch, space probes data and other observations, we have reached one hundred years of observations of this huge meteor stream. The observations from the last decades of 20. Century and from its beginning, correspond to the same part of the stream in its 76 year's period and they fully confirm the same structural features and its main characteristics (main double peak, flux, filaments etc.) identified to be the consequence of the parent body dynamical motion and the physical processes of the release of dust particles from the nucleus.
