The models of layered stellar configurations with a strange quark core and a crust of normal neutron matter have been constructed. Calculated equations of state indicate sufficiently high values for neutron component density at the boundary between nucleon and quark phases for some realistic variants. The stability region of such configurations has been investigated. The detailed comparison of models' structure and possible observational manifestations with known astronomical data has been accomplished to consider a possibility of observational distinguishing between neutron and strange stars.
