Stark splitting coupled with Doppler spectroscopy of the hydrogen
Hβ and Hγ lines is applied for simultaneous determination of
local electric field and temperature of excited H atoms in the cathode
fall region and in the beginning of the negative glow of Grimm-type glow
discharge in pure hydrogen and in an argon-hydrogen mixture.
