The structure of the periodic solutions of the Stoermer problem, representing the magnetic field of earth, is examined by considering the equatorial oscillations of the charged particle and their 'vertical' bifurcations with meridian periodic oscillations. An infinity of new families of simple-periodic oscillations is found to exist in the vicinity of the 'thalweg', and four such families are actually established by numerical integration.
