Thermal profiles of Uranus are inferred from presently available infrared measurements of this planet, and compared with the radiative-convective equilibrium models of Wallace (1975). Supersaturation of CH4 in the Uranian stratosphere is not required to explain the infrared features of this planet. The effective temperature of the retrieved profiles is 57 plus or minus 2.5 K for a relative hydrogen abundance of 85 percent. There is no evidence of an internal heat source, and a significant enhancement of helium compared with the solar abundance is unlikely.
