The Rome Observatory's method for stellar photometry in crowded fields is applied to the rereduction of Alcaino and Liller's (1980) set of plates for NGC 288, measuring more than 3000 stars in the V range of 12-20.5. The color-magnitude diagram obtained shows a magnitude difference between HB and TO of 3.5 + or - 0.1, in keeping with the mean value found by Sandage (1982) for other well studied clusters. From the complete samples obtained for horizontal branch, red giant branch, and asymptotic giant branch stars in an annulus of 1.5-8.8 arcmin radius, a Y value of 0.23 + or - 0.03 has been derived by the R-method. These results are compatible with the cluster normal age of 16 + or - 3 billion years. Indications of the existence of gaps are noted for the blue horizontal and subgiant branches.
