An analytical asymptotic formula describing the high-frequency tail of the radiation spectrum of a compact stellar atmosphere is presented. It is assumed that Thomson scattering dominates in the opacity and the electron temperature increases inside the atmosphere according to the simple law Te ≡ τT1/4. The estimates according to this simple formula are compared with the results of numerical computations using the Rybicki method. The influence of the comptonization onto the burster radiation spectrum is discussed.
