Laboratory experiments indicate that in the vicinity of the cometary nucleus a satellite system of dust and ice bodies may occur. The size of this pseudonucleus is several times greater than that of the cometary nucleus. Supposing that the real nucleus is overshadowed by such a dust system the authors estimate that Halley's comet nucleus radius has to be ≈1.5 km. TV images from the spacecraft give the possibility to consider that the whole amount of dust in Halley's comet pseudonucleus doesn't exceed 104 tons.
