It is shown that both Io and Titan undergo long-term variations in magnitude at mean opposition. These variations are analyzed as functions of the orbital motions of Jupiter and Saturn, respectively. Evidence is obtained from UBV photometric data which indicates that Io's variation is correlated with Jupiter's orbital period and that the brightness maximum occurs at perihelion.
