Current observations of radio-loud AGN in the cores of some galaxy clusters suggest that they can inject substantial amounts of energy into the intracluster medium (ICM), potentially stabilizing cooling in these regions. But what about the contribution from other non-central AGN? We present a multi-wavelength investigation of cluster AGN in a unique sample of 25 galaxy clusters out to z 1.0. Guided by the results of hydrodynamical cosmological simulations, we choose galaxy clusters with bulk ICM temperatures similar to predicted Coma Cluster progenitors. Within 1 Mpc of the cluster center, we identify potential cluster AGN in archival Chandra images and VLA 20cm radio maps, utilize two-color imaging to compare cluster AGN host galaxy colors to the cluster red sequence, and use optical spectra (new and published) to identify host galaxy types and to look for optical evidence of AGN activity. In eleven low-z clusters (z < 0.4) we find 75% of spectroscopically confirmed cluster X-ray point sources (XPSs) and radio galaxies are located within 500 kpc of the cluster center. Due to the lack of typical optical and X-ray features of AGN activity and excess optical blue light in a couple of XPSs, we conclude that our cluster XPSs are high-energy peaked BL Lac objects, a X-ray beamed population of low-power FR 1s below our detection limits. Based on our observed number of cluster AGN, we suggest that potentially all cluster red sequence galaxies with L > L* are radio-loud, and therefore possess relativistic jets that can collectively inject and distribute energy throughout the ICM. The second part of thesis will discuss the evolution of cluster AGN in the "Road to Coma" cluster sample. This thesis is supported by Chandra Archive/Theory Grant AR8-9013X.
