The paper examines the relationship between sky brightness and three-dimensional spatial autocorrelation function measurements in the two dimensional case. It is shown that with a two dimensional array in the W=0 plane, the brightness distribution produced by two dimensional transformation is related to the true brightness by convolution with a fixed antenna pattern. An approach to the inversion of the autocorrelation measurements is developed and the possible application of the 'clean' technique is considered.
