Scientific paper

The paper presents summarized data on the energy spectrum of secondary showers generated by cosmic ray muons in iron. Experimental data are compared with calculation results. The showers appear to be in excess, as compared with the expected rate. It has been shown analytically that cascade energy spectrum cannot be explained in terms of trivial concepts of the muon interaction mechanism at an energy value exceeding about 1 TeV.
