It is argued that a commonly used relationship, i.e., the finding that the width of the indicatrix is independent of the wave number k, is a result of an erroneous interpretation of the experimental data. Instead, it is suggested that, at high frequencies, what is measured is not the indicatrix but another characteristic, namely, the distribution function of irregularities with respect to height. This distribution does not depend on k, which is confirmed experimentally.
