The time-optimal control of orbital transfer between earth orbit and the Lagrangian equilibrium points in the earth-moon system is considered. The controlled motion of spacecraft around the Lagrangian points is analyzed on the basis of a functional analysis of linear control systems. Particular attention is then given to the time-optimal transfer of spacecraft from the collinear and equidistant Lagrangian points to a given point, and from a given point to the Lagrangian points, resulting in the determination of allowable controls and the minimum time required. The construction of the transfer trajectory in the phase plane is also illustrated for motion towards one of the collinear Lagrangian points.
