The precession of a rotating charged black hole in an external magnetic field is considered, and the possibility of observing the effect in black hole systems with magnetized accretion disks is explored. For the more realistic astrophysical situation where it is assumed that the magnetic field is created by the currents flowing in the accretion plasma, the analysis is limited to simple estimates of the torque. It is shown that the value of the black hole electric charge is the criterion for the observability of the precession in black hole systems with magnetized accretion disks, and that the effect is only, in principle, observable for sufficiently large values of charge.
