Neutral current cross sections of scattering of νe on the nuclear isotope 56Fe, which play a significant role in astrophysical neutrino studies, are used in order to explore the response of this detector to supernova neutrino spectra. We assume a two-parameter Fermi-Dirac distribution for the supernova neutrino spectra and evaluate the flux averaged cross sections for various values of the neutrino temperature and chemical potential parameters.
