A Monte Carlo simulation is carried out to show that the existence of two modes of type II bursts in the rapid burster MXB 1730-335 can be attributed in a natural way to accretion onto either or both magnetic poles of a neutron star rotating with a period of approximately 250 sec. It is shown that the burst occurrence probability is modulated periodically and that it is natural to associate the modulation period with the spin period of the neutron star. The SAS 3 data published by Marshall et al. (1979) is used. In the analysis, graphs for the dependence of the interval between successive bursts upon the burst energy are used to construct histograms for the frequency distribution of the time intervals between bursts.
