The data on the chemical composition of fused microparticles found at the site of the Tunguska meteorite fall do not explain if this meteorite originated from an asteroid or from a comet. The optical properties of its material that has been dispersed in the atmosphere and the calculations for the density and strength of the meteoritic body suggest its cometary origin.
