The uvby-beta data for the young associations Orion OBI, NGC 2264, alpha Persei, Scorpius, and Centaurus have been used to derive the initial mass function (IMF) for the mass range from 2.2 to 10 solar masses. This was done by calculating individual stellar masses, combining the position in the HR-diagram and theoretical isochrones. We have found that the upper IMF for all the associations could be approximated by a power law with the slope of 1.9.
