The dust layer at an altitude of about 80 km causes the attenuation of
the light of the stars during the OAO-2 satellite observations near the
horizon. This is compared with absorption due to ozone near to 2400 A in
the spectral range, using ozone concentration measured by the OAO-2
satellite.
