The nutation terms produced by planetary perturbations in the Earth's orbit around the Sun are derived. All the perturbations greater than 0.02arcsec in geocentric angular position of the Sun and 3×10-8 in the logarithm of its radius vector were considered. The effect in nutation is found to be of the order of several parts in 10-4 seconds of arc. The total combined effect of the direct and indirect planetary terms on nutation is also given. Since this effect is comparable with the smallest terms in the luni-solar nutation series adopted by the IAU, it should not be neglected.
