Corrections for galactic extinction and the K-effect are applied to the Hubble diagram for a sample of radio-detected quasars with redshifts less than 2.0, and the resulting classes of quasars are discussed. The V magnitudes were corrected using an extinction correction equal to -3.3 times the delta (B-V) reddening and based on a bolometric extinction of 0.35 magnitudes. The applied corrections are shown to sharpen the envelope on the Hubble diagram defined by the brightest quasars, with the slope of this envelope consistent with the Hubble slope. It is suggested that the envelope represents a well defined subclass of the most luminous quasars, and evidence concerning the properties of quasars with red shifts between 1.6 and 2.0, and the optical variabilities, radio properties and absorption-line types of objects within the subclass is presented which supports its existence. Implications of the existence of this hypothetical class of quasars for cosmological studies are pointed out.
